Hello, and welcome to my online teaching portfolio!
My name is Kathy Saldivar. I am currently a stay-at-home mom to my two children looking to get into the teaching profession.
In 2001, I graduated from the the University of Arkansas with a B.S. in Architectural Studies and a minor in Early Childhood Education. I am currently working on my teaching certification (Generalist EC-6) through Texas Teachers.
Throughout school and even after, I have worked as a both a nanny and preschool teacher before I took some time off to stay at home with my children. During the time I spent at home with them, I participated in a Mothers of Preschoolers group at church and lead the Creative Activities for the mothers for the past two years.
The light that comes into a child's eyes when they grasp a challenging concept is what encourages me in my teaching. I enjoy planning lessons that relate to their lives while still challenging them to learn.
In my free time, I love to read and take photographs. I also enjoy listening to music and scrapbooking. .
In the sections that follow, you'll find specific details about my beliefs and achievements in education. This includes my resume, philosophy of education, and items from various aspects of my teaching and educational experiences. Please feel free to contact me in regards to any information on my profile.
Thank you for your time and interest!
